Re: Alma Deutscher
I looked at the second video. What an amazing child, just outstanding. I figured that it would be no good my buying her cd as I probably wouldn't understand it completely. She is way above my level of comprehension. You can see multiple shots of Stephen Hawking in the background audience, I think she is certainly up there with his level of thinking.

During a fascinating tour of the Händel-Haus in Halle, Alma was allowed to play on one of the instruments in the wonderful collection of the museum.
Pictures from a wonderful recital yesterday at the residence of the Israeli ambassador in Vienna, Talia Lador, where Alma presented music from her opera Cinderella together with singers of the ensemble Oh!pera and musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Thank you for all those who helped maked it such a wonderful event.

Re: Alma Deutscher
From Alma's Facebook:
A message from the production team of the ensemble Ohpera, who are putting on Alma's opera Cinderella in Vienna this December.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Supporters of Alma Deutscher's Opera Cinderella,
Tickets for the four performances of Alma's Cinderella in Vienna will publicly go on sale at the end of July 2016. This production promises to be not just a media sensation, but also an event that will go down the history of music. It is a long time since the world has seen a full production in one of the world's major music capitals of an opera composed by an 10 year old child (not to mention a 10 year old girl...) We hope you will be able to participate in this exciting event. More details about the production can be found on the website http://www.cinderella-in-vienna.com/.
Producing an opera has always been a very expensive affair, which requires additional support beyond the normal price of tickets. We hope that you will be able so support us and ensure the viability of this production. For a limited period before normal tickets go on sale at the end of July, we are offering our supporters the opportunity to become part of the project family, by purchasing a "Supporter Package".
Each Supporter Package includes:
* A seat in the best rows for one of the performances of your choice.
* A special thank you letter from the cast and the composer for your role in making this unique historical event possible.
* The opportunity to attend a rehearsal and watch the composer and cast at work.
* A glass of Champagne during the interval.
* Your name will be listed on the website and in the program as a supporter of this production, and will go down in history as someone who supported this unique event.
The price of each Supporter Package is EUR 200 (or $225 USD, £160 GBP). If you are interested in becoming a Supporter, please send an email to Cathrin Chytil at contact@ohpera.at with your name, your email and postal address, which performance you would like to attend (see list of dates below), and how many Supporter Packages you would like to purchase. We will then send you bank transfer instructions. The tickets and the thank you letter will be sent to you by post.
Dates of performances:
29.12.2016, 19:00, Casino Baumgarten, Vienna
30.12.2016, 16:00, Casino Baumgarten, Vienna
04.01.2017, 19:00, Casino Baumgarten, Vienna
05.01.2017, 16:00, Casino Baumgarten, Vienna

With best wishes,

Re: Alma Deutscher
Below is a Google translated excerpt from an interview/commentary published in the Austrian Edition of DIE ZEIT about "Cinderella in Vienna". The original is in German and is quite lengthy. Google couldn't handle Deutscher which it translated as "Alma German"
I thought this little snippet is quite an amazing achievement for Alma. Alma actually wrote her opera when she was 9/10yo and it was performed in Israel when she was an 11yo, I think, in July 2015.
Nothing like it has recently been 250 years ago, in 1767, as in Salzburg the first opera of the then eleven-year old Mozart premiered. The comparison with Wolfgang Amadeus, as he was pulled abound in media such as the Guardian, the Times or the BBC, defends Alma German from though. "Oh no," she says and stretches her freckled nose, shaking his head up, "I am Alma, I compose my own music, not of Mozart In addition he was a boy.."
