This quote was a few posts back, Charlie, but these little stories on her VK page explain a lot as well:

Elizaveta Perminova
Victory Day is approaching. I will tell about my ancestors.
Lozhkin Gennadiy Vasilevich. Grandma says that he was "born under a lucky star" ...
In April 1940, he was called up for military service in the Red Army. He served on the border of Belarus and Poland in the air forces. With higher education in the ranks of conscripts was very small, not enough professionals and grandfather immediately sent a 9-month course of meteorologists in Smolensk.
Houses were the wife and daughter - my grandmother. Suddenly it found severe disease in spouses, and doctors insisted on immediate surgery, a positive outcome is, alas, no one can guarantee. To the great-grandfather was allowed to come to vacation, great-grandmother wrote a letter addressed to Marshal Voroshilov and Timoshenko. So they let him go home on leave in May 1941. And in June, while he was still at home, the war began, and almost all part perished defending the enemy onslaught in the first days of the war ...
The great-grandfather tried to get to his, find the part in which he served, but in the chaos, confusion and a large-scale withdrawal of troops Of course, it was impossible. And whether he knew that part of it no longer exists ... But he was lucky again: moving on the march in the column of infantry, he was recognized by the unit commander, in which he served in 1940. And again he went to his unit. In August 1941, in the battle of Smolensk was wounded. Seeing nothing, and have not heard from the battlefield he picked up some old men and hid them in his cottage. Seized the town the Germans raided, but the grandfather was not found. (After the war, he was looking for the people who saved his life, but in vain ...)
When the city was recaptured, he was sent to Sukhinichi for treatment in the hospital, where his great-grandfather stayed for 10 days, but due to the threat of capture of the city by the Nazis, was issued as a who have already seen and heard, and again returned to his unit.
Huge forces concentrated near Moscow. Photographed every defender of the capital, and a letter with a photo sent home. But the military censor blacked out part of the inscription. So often done in the letters that came from the front, so the family did not always know where the letter came.
Grandfather first award - the medal "For the Defense of Moscow".
After the war, the great-grandfather told me how close creeping death, claiming the lives of fellow soldiers. Bullet blew the cap off his head, leaving not a single scratch, shrapnel from the exploded shell knocked a pot of hands - and so on until the end of the war any more injuries and contusions.
He ended the war, my dear grandfather in Königsberg. He received the medal "For the Taking of Königsberg". And it during the war years was awarded two medals "For Service in Battle".

How many of them, boys and girls, orphaned despicable war ... These lines I dedicate my grandfather Misha. Now he is 80 years old. In 1945, when the whole country was celebrating the victory over Nazi Germany, he was eight. His father went to the front in the summer of forty-two, leaving his wife at the hands of two children. Year-old boy did what should be done to the man in the house-owner: plowing, led household, for days nursed with her younger sister. Hoping that is about to return his father, and it becomes easier ...
But the spring of 1943 came a death, six months later, the second ... Killed were reported in one and in the other, but neither the place nor the date of the death of an ordinary Petra Ilicha Oschepkova were not specified ...
invaluable work of search engines, which after seventy-odd years, do not stop the search for the missing missing ... The list published Izhevsk branch of "duty" public organization, we found the data on Oshchepkova Peter Ilyich native Yakshur-Bodyinsky district Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
After '71, my grandfather learned the place and time of his father's death. Private Peter Ilyich Oshchepkov died from wounds February 27, 1943 in the village of Zhigaeva Kursk. He was buried in the garden of the reading rooms ... We have tried to communicate with the villagers in order to clarify whether there is a surname P. Oshchepkova on the plaque, but so far without success ...
Was awarded grandfather - do not know. That's the only photograph taken before being sent to the front. If suddenly you are reading this message and know something about my great-grandfather, I will be very grateful for the information.

I just scroll through her VK page every so often to see what she is up to. Those stories were on her page yesterday. She is a good little writer as well as being good at singing and reading!

I think it is great that she is so interested in her family history and that she seems to enjoy spending a lot of time with older people. Most kids are only interested in older people if there are gifts or money involved. Laughing

Liza participated in this production recently and appears at the following points in the video:

15:40 Solo performance
50:40 Solo performance
1:21:35 Liza gets a pillow! (not sure what that's about)
1:41:50 Group performance, Liza is the smallest one on the stage

I am always trying how to figure out the vk thing. Would be nice if I could figure out the instructions, but they are very nicely written in letters that are upside down to me. Laughing

It looks like that isn't a public video so in order to see it, you have to be signed into VK. That is the only way I could watch it. So if you don't have a VK account, some things are not accessible, which is also sometimes the case with Facebook.

If you want to understand most of what is on VK, you have to open it in Chrome and then use the upper bar or right click and select Translate To English.

That was wonderful. She is so expressive in her performances. I have never seen anything like the dangly dolls in the first song.

Well done, Lisa Very Happy

Long story short----I had an update to my OS that took 1hr to install and my password for vk was erased. I was able to finally see the video. Thanks Garth! sunny

Today, June 12, is Russia Day, the day of Sovereignty Declaration in 1990. Who would be the most appropriate person to sing about this? Lisa, of course.
