Daneliya is from Kazakhstan. She was the winner of Kazakhstan's Ayalagan Astana 2015 children's music competition and was awarded the People’s Choice Award at New Wave Junior in 2015. She won Voice Kids Ukraine in 2017 and was a Finalist on World's Best in 2019.

It's highly unlikely that the both the competition and the local media would have gotten her age wrong. And apparently, the age isn't the only thing in question, if you open this article in Chrome and read the translated version:

Interesting article! I noticed in one of the comments on yt that the poster was claiming she was lying in regards to her vocal experience. I didn't bother reading any more as I can't be bothered manually translating it all (Chrome doesn't offer translation on my yt)

I can still access the VK fan group and the comment is still there, unedited.

It seems that the comment she made about only singing for 18 months was at the beginning before she sang. I have no idea what she told the mentors. I suppose if she lied to them she will probably be disqualified and if that happened it will be a pity because she was brilliant.

I guess we will just have to wait to see what happens.

Just to add to the previous post, on two occasions Danelia told the judges she was 10. I could understand that. Eleven sounds very different to 10. So, if she lied about her age to them she is out the door, I imagine.

There is still an outside chance that the audition was taped prior to her turning 11, which could explain that.

When Eva appeared on Voice Kids Russia, her audition aired in February but was actually filmed in October so she had to keep quiet about what happened. Even America's Got Talent auditions are actually filmed several months before they air.

But it will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out.

Haha I was just thinking that so I stopped by to edit my post. Graces AGT audition was at the beginning of March but wasn't aired until July.

The VK fan site works for me probably because I joined it.

Possibly this has something to do with it  :D In 1923, a radical change in the calendar took place. Soviet Russia abolished both the Julian calendar, used by the Russian Orthodox Church, and the official Gregorian calendar that had been installed by Lenin.

I believe the answer to these strange and incorrect birthdays is that some of these social media sites have a minimum age in order to have an account. It is 13 for Facebook and I suspect it is likely the same for VK.

It appears that several of these scamps have fudged their ages by giving a date that either makes them appear to be just over 13, adding 10 years to their age, or even adding 100 years to their age by using say 1905 instead of 2005 as their birth year.

I have watched many reactions to Danelia and they are all like this guys.  :D
