This would have to be the True Value Spring Reunion which I figured out by looking up John Hartmann who was introduced towards the end of the video. He is the CEO of True Value, and they were holding that reunion in Houston this weekend according to Uncle Google.  :)

It looks like Carly is drinking bottled water. I'm not too sure what that other girl is drinking.

I once was an avid fan of Carly's. The way her career stalled after AGT still mystifies me. I've heard many reasons why, the primary one being Simon Cowell got mad at Carly's mother for some unknown reason. Carly tried a few concerts backed by her mother. They largely flopped. She still says four years later she is still working on her album. Go figure......

I'm not familiar with any concerts backed by her mother. I recall she performed at the Best Buy Theatre and City Walk, and I think those went over fairly well. But I do have some theories on what has happened:

1. She has mentioned a few times that she chose to stay where she was in public school rather than moving to L.A. to pursue the career full time. That was, I think the major stumbling block with Simon, who wanted her to be touring a lot. So that kyboshed the normal route of being signed, promoted by a label, and traveling on the promotional and concert circuit.

2. Britney was her mentor on X-Factor and I am quite sure she got a real eye opener and earful of info on the effect that dropping out of school and touring had on her over time. That would have been some interesting information for her to ponder.

3. There really isn't an opening in the market right now for a young female pop star and hasn't been since Carly was on X-Factor. Ariana Grande is big with the younger teens and Taylor Swift has gone pop. So the timing hasn't been right for a newcomer. Plus the declining album sales market in general pretty much requires a number of concerts be done to make a decent income.

So I think Carly is quite content to complete her schooling right now and I don't look for her to do too much until she is out of school. I don't know what her contract status is at this point either, whether she signed something after X-Factor or would be available to offers. But I do look for her to make a splash at some point in the future. Like maybe in a year or two.
