International children's vocal competition " You are super! "Is an incredible show in which talented children who have been without parental care have a chance to express themselves and demonstrate their vocal abilities to the whole country.
Participants of the contest " You are super! "- pupils of orphanages, boarding schools and children from foster and guardian families from Russia, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Estonia and South Ossetia. Talented children aged 7 to 18 years were able to demonstrate their vocal abilities to a professional jury and millions of viewers, work with the best music teachers and producers.
" You Are Super! "- a joint project of the NTV channel and the Information Agency and Radio Sputnik .
The jury: People's Artist, composer Igor Krutoy; pop-singer, winner of the spectator vote of "Eurovision-2016" Sergei Lazarev; popular singer Julianna Karaulova, as well as composer and producer Victor Drobysh

Episode 13



I thought this was a pretty weak semifinal, which means a lot of the better contestants will be competing in next week's show. That's unfortunate, because it means some of the good ones won't go through because the 4 spots on this show got taken up by weaker acts.

Episode 14



There must be one more semi final because there were a couple of contestants I didn't see in the first 2, and I am sure they went through.

Diana is in the Final!



Vasilina is in the Final!



I am cheering for Vasilina, but I think Diana will probably be the overall winner.

Episode 15



I was very disappointed that Angelica didn't go through, so this episode gets NO CHEERS!

Diana Ankudinova wins You Are Super!





Although I was cheering for Vasilina, I expected Diana to win. Here is Vasiina's performance.

The show has started this year, but it is very difficult to follow as there is no CC like there was last year. Also, most of the judges have changed, and not for the better IMO. So far, somewhat disappointing.

But here is Episode 1

This little girl was the highlight of the show IMO, but didn't get picked for the finals

Episode 3 (hooray, CC is back!)



There is the cutest little Molodvan girl on the show at 35:20 above!  She didn't go through, but I will say that she was treated very well by everyone and it is a joy to watch her entire appearance

So far, I think this was one of the better performances

One of my favourites from last year, Elvira, is back again. Apparently, like Vasilina, she was invited back. She appears at the 1:41:20 mark above. She did not move on (what's wrong with these judges this year?

HOWEVER, she did get a family! She was in the orphanage last year and met this family from being on You Are Super! And if you watch her entire appearance, they are backstage as a surprise and confirmed their decision to adopt her.

Episode 5


There wasn't much to get excited about in this episode. The girl Charlie posted was probably about the best. Nothing spectacular otherwise.

Episode 7


I posted this because I am posting all of the episodes, but I didn't see anything of interest in this one.

I have to say I don't like the show much this season. They have changed the format so that instead of those who get 3 green lights going on to later rounds, they are having a judges' selection each episode, so a lot of contestant who would have made it to another round are eliminated right away.  

Also, this year it seems that most of the contestants are older than in prior years, like mid to late teens and many seem quite well trained and polished, so the younger ones don't have any chance of advancing. Technically, they probably qualify if they have no parents but I thought the spirit of the show was to give children in orphanages, boarding schools etc an opportunity to get discovered, which I think should be younger ones with raw talent, not well trained older ones.

So I am losing a lot of interest in the show due to that.  

Episode 8




Well, this is the real jumping of the shark for this show. I am done watching it now. This was the semi final and the judges chose their picks for the Final. Then the blind boy who didn't get through was bawling and the host made a speech about how rules are rules but then begged the judges to make an "exception" and allow him a vote so he could vote the blind boy into the Final, which he did. OH, BROTHER!!! Now they can't even stick to the rules anymore and have to put the sad story through even when they are fairly eliminated.
I think the public votes on the winner in the final, so I think we all know who will win. But I won't be watching.
