Children raise €6000 for Amira's charity foundation
========================================
During the past 12 months, 106 children, varying in age from 2 up to 14 years old, worked very hard to support Amira’s playground project and her Gelukskinders foundation. This weekend, on behalf of her charity foundation, Amira had the honour to receive a cheque of €6000 from the children.
These 106 children, who are of Flemish origin but are living across Belgium and France, raise money for charity each year. In August 2015 they unanimously decided that Stichting Gelukskinders would be the charity organization they wished to support the whole year.
On September 1st 2015 they started their project: grandpa’s car was cleaned, shopping carts were returned, some children did their aunt’s ironing, old toys were sold and in countless other ways the children raised money.
Personal message from Amira thanking her fans for donating and supporting her charity work ; this enabled Amira to open her 2nd playground in South African township Ikageng on August 1, 2016

Opera Star Amira Willighagen "I'm just a girl of 12"
Concert with Princess Irene on December 9 in New Church
by Floris Hulleman HOUSE -
Opera Sparkler Amira Willighagen (12) occurs during a big concert with Princess Irene held on
9 December in the Nieuwe Kerk. Art and Culture Foundation invited her this weekend to look ahead to this concert. "To me it does not matter where I'm performing, I do equally well my best."
"Six million times" is the playful response from Amira, asked about the number of interviews she has done. "And there are already some two million photographs," the opera singer says when she comes back in the room of the penthouse. On the top floor of the luxurious Hampshire Hotel is serving a special room for her and the press.
Girl gained worldwide fame at the age of nine by winning the television program Holland's Got Talent has become accustomed to the attention. The opera star sees much of the world. She has performed in America, Africa, South America and in the Netherlands sang with André Rieu on the Vrijthof in Maastricht. She is very aware of her status, but stressed that she is an ordinary girl of twelve. "I'm a girl who just in the first year of high school is. Singing is my life and I also once weekly singing lessons. Sometimes I turn it over because I have a slumber party with friends," said Amira.
Classical music is Amira spoon-fed. At a young age she already hummed with opera songs that were set up in the car. "That was on and when my parents have done before." Slowly but surely, Amira began to sing along. "I listened many times, maybe 20 times. I watched over in the manner of singing and, for example whether they were going to sing louder or softer." Her brother sought the often Italian, texts and wrote them out. "I first started singing along, then karaoke and then a cappella."
World Famous - As low childhood Amira wants to be on TV. Its participation in the talent show was therefore not strange. Yet she never thought she would win. "I actually thought that I once would occur." Unexpectedly, she won the program and they became world famous at once. The result was the biggest air travel to venues abroad.
"Acting is great fun. For example, on the plaza. I see only heads. Short hair, long hair or bald heads. More I see really. But it is very cool." "
Another World " When I sing I do not see people, but I'm in a different world. I fly and I see where the song is about. If the song for example someone is going to jump off a bridge, I see jump myself from that bridge, "Amira says. It helps her to get more feeling to the song. When she is ready, and the people should clap, that gives its a really nice feeling.
Despite the many countries she has visited, she still has a big dream. "I want to sing once in the big opera house in Sydney. My feeling is that the opera place in the world."
For now, she will first focus on her upcoming performances, including those in houses." I like to sing with an orchestra. It makes me more not matter how many people are in a room," concludes the opera star.

An interesting 2 part documentary about Amira, with English captions
The second part only goes up to the end of November 2013 so there are probably more videos to come.

It's called the 4th Vincero. Jackie has sung it as well in recent performances of Nessun Dorma. I don't know how it came about, I think if I remember right Foster may have come up with that. It sounds out of place, but I think the purpose is to show how high your voice can go.

Yes, I understand the 4th Vincero. I can't describe a note, as in a high C etc. but Jackie didn't ever sing it like Amira did. From what I heard she needed to sing the "O" part in a lower key to make it fit in with the rest of the word. It sounded screechy to me.

Re: Amira Willighagen
This Amira documentary does not have English subtitles, but it seems that Youtube is playing with an auto translator. At this point, a lot of the translation does not make any sense, especially in a few Russian ones I have tried. Only some videos have the option. This one does have the option and the video is in Dutch so some of it makes sense but a lot does not. I guess it is a work in progress at this point.
To turn on the auto translator, select Settings under the video (the little cog), and select Subtitles and Dutch (auto-generated) which turns on the captioning. Then select the Dutch (auto-generated) again and a little menu will come up that has Auto Translate underneath the Dutch. Select that and then select English and go back to the video. The captioning will now be in English.
