In April 1940, he was called up for military service in the Red Army. He served on the border of Belarus and Poland in the air forces. I just scroll through her VK page every so often to see what she is up to. Those stories were on her page yesterday. She is a good little writer as well as being good at singing and reading!

I think it is great that she is so interested in her family history and that she seems to enjoy spending a lot of time with older people. Most kids are only interested in older people if there are gifts or money involved. Laughing

I am always trying how to figure out the vk thing. Would be nice if I could figure out the instructions, but they are very nicely written in letters that are upside down to me. Laughing

It looks like that isn't a public video so in order to see it, you have to be signed into VK. That is the only way I could watch it. So if you don't have a VK account, some things are not accessible, which is also sometimes the case with Facebook.

If you want to understand most of what is on VK, you have to open it in Chrome and then use the upper bar or right click and select Translate To English.

Long story short----I had an update to my OS that took 1hr to install and my password for vk was erased. I was able to finally see the video. Thanks Garth! Sunny
