I actually feel sorry for the original winner now, as I am sure she had nothing to do with the all this and she was actually pretty good, but now all the other finalists got declared the winner except her because she didn't want to go back. It's pretty likely she has been teased and raked over the coals by other kids. Really too bad.

I don't blame the kid at all but it was probably a wise decision for her not to be there. Some of the audience might not have been too kind to her. Even though she was stripped of her win I am sure she still has her trophy and the million rubles. The fact that they gave the other eight a trophy and a million rubles each makes it an expensive night out but it may go a little way to soothe the anger of a lot of people towards the program.
I am sure there will be changes to the voting system next season, if there is a new season, and I hope there will be.

When I was reading the cc, the first girl says she is from "Veshki Ukrainian region". I just assumed that was somewhere in Ukraine and not being familiar with the city names, figured that is where they were both from. But I didn't look into it any further, which it appears you did.

Now, I am starting to get a bit pissed at this show. The two girls clocked up well over two million views and the video has been deleted from Youtube. Some say something about copyright with the ABBA song but that can't be right as it still exists on the Channel 1 site and the ABBA song from the first season was not deleted.
They are probably worried that the video has become too popular and that the girls have an unfair advantage. If they do not reinstate it with the proper view count then I just believe that the show is rigged.
