Along the River by Saida.  Ran across this video a little while ago. she is 14yo Russian singer from Tartarstan. Her singing is different mesmerizing. This is a tartar folk song about the men getting notice to go to war during world war 2 and how there families are missing them. Saida was also on the voice kids russia 2015.    Take time to listen to singers from over the world in there native languages. You may not know what they are saying but the songs and melodies sound beautiful. Enjoy.

Excuse my butting in That was beautiful! I didn't see a blond boy. The little girl in the middle is Taisiya Podgornaya and she has a thread on this forum. We all her here.

Hey Charlie - no problem, I wish people would "butt in" more often! I was talking about the kid on the opposite side of Saida, from our perspective he was on the right. I suppose his hair could be described as either dark blond or light brown. I almost commented about Taisiya but forgot - she's wonderful! Very nice strong low notes, hard to hit solidly for a little girl. I'll look up more of her videos for sure!

Even though the Tatar style of singing is so different, Saida always holds my interest for the whole song. She has great control over the pitch, and she's always so sincere and authentic! I like that she's so versatile too and branches out to lots of other music. Thanks again, Ellis - another great one!

I hadn't seen either of these videos...you're batting 1000, Ellis! The 1st one - cuteness overload! But even though she's cute, she's also really, really good! I've seen 1 other video from about the same time, the title of the song roughly translates to "Let it be a Beautiful", it was of pretty poor video quality though. This one is clear. The 2nd video shows how she had progressed so much already by this time, I'm guessing this was a few years ago. Great!!
